Brimstone Line will be playing at the Rural Route Film Festival in Brooklyn on August 10. It will then participate in the tour, including stops in Austria, Croatia, and Chile.

The film will also show at the 18 festival de Cine de Lima, along with 4x8x3 during August 10-15.

349 (for Sol LeWitt) will precede the new documentary on Sol LeWitt by Chris Teerink at the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC, August 12, 14 & 15.

Brimstone Line will play at the Media City Film Festival on July 11. I will be present.

It will also play at the Kunstmeile Hamburg on July 9 (followed by a Skype conversation with me).

I will be in Baltimore July 29 at a screening of my films, “Towards a Vanishing Point: Works by Chris Kennedy”, programmed by Kate Ewald, at The Crown, 1910 N. Charles Street.

Early Monthly Segments, the monthly film salon I program with Scott Miller Berry and Kate MacKay just celebrated its fifth anniversary.

In the next few weeks, Brimstone Line screens at the Ann Arbor Film Festival, the Images Festival (in a program curated by Johnson Ngo) and the Nashville Film Festival.

February 2nd, 2014

I will be presenting Brimstone Line at the Berlinale in February.

A conversation between Tomonari Nishikawa and myself is available in Speaking Directly: Oral Histories of the Moving Image, edited by Federico Windhausen and published by the SF Cinematheque.

Tomonari has also curated Brimstone Line into a screening called Traces of Activity at Uplink in Tokyo on March 1.

I will be in person to present a screening of my work on November 13 at Nightingale Cinema in Chicago. The screening is curated by Sally Lawton.

Brimstone Line will then play Chicago again at DINCA’s Vision Quest November 21-23.

Meanwhile, One Roll in the Blackness plays at Light Cube‘s Transmissions 2 in New Delhi, November 14-18.

I just got back from the International Experimental Cinema Congress 2012 in Berlin (Think : Film).

I will have articles coming out in the new issue of MIRAJ and Millennium Film Journal.

In November, I will have a solo screening of my work in La Semana II del Film Experimental in La Plata, Argentina. The Canada Council is supporting my travel to attend.

I’m teaching a Time-Based Media class at OCAD University in Toronto this fall and Video for Artists in the Winter.

One Roll in the Blackness has been curated by Jim Hobbs into a show called 100 HUNDRED FOOT that is touring around the UK.

Towards a Vanishing Point shows at the Antimatter Film Festival in Victoria this October and at the Museum London on October 18.

Also in October, Tamalpais shows as part of the Alchemy Festival in the Scottish Borders.

One Roll in the Blackness tours to the Spectacle Cinema in Brooklyn, NY with the rest of the Black Thorns in the Black Box program on May 6.

Nicky Hamlyn will be in Toronto to present his work at Early Monthly Segments on May 7. The screening will include one of my favourites of his — White Light.

Consider supporting the Temenos Kickstarter appeal. It’s an amazing project by an inspirational filmmaker.

A short portrait film I did of Keiji Haino, One Roll in the Blackness, debuts at a screening for Black Thorns in the Black Box on March 1 in Kansas City, KS. It will show again in Chicago on March 23.

From July 1-August 18, Simultaneous Contrast is installed at the Niche in the Fine Arts Library, a project curated by Lydia Moyer at the University of Virginia.

Tomonari Nishikawa will be curating the next Early Monthly Segments screening on July 18. He will be presenting a program of recent Japanese 16mm films.

I will be participating in the Chain Letter show, curated by Christian Cummings & Doug Harvey at Shoshana Wayne Gallery in Los Angeles. My piece will make an appearance during the opening on July 23.
